Dr. Karolina Parding currently holds a position as Associate Professor in the Department of Economy, Technology and Society at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. Her main research field is sociology of professions, where she studies welfare sector professionals and the tension between profession and organisation. She mainly studies teachers’ working conditions, but she also studies other public sector professionals such as social workers and nurses. The concepts of profession, organisation, discretionary power, working conditions, and learning are central to her work. She has published articles in journals such as Workplace Learning, The International Journal of Public Sector Management and Education Research International.
